About Dyno Velo

Greetings! Dyno Velo is a spin off from CFOM, a privately held company that has been around for about 15 years.  However, we have an absolute passion for cycling. At age 11 our founder was building racing wheels at Willi’s Ski & Bike Shop in Pittsburgh. By age 14, with a used $100 oxy-acetylene outfit, he brazed his own racing frames from Reynolds 531 tubing kits from Bike Warehouse (now Bike Nashbar).  Having a limited budget, but wanting the best, he went the extra mile to get it.

Years have gone by, but our passion for cycling hasn’t changed.   About ten years ago, our core team of engineers started developing a power meter with all the best features, but at a cost that won’t have you blowing your entire budget just on a power meter.  Just like the speedometer, we believe the power meter is here to stay, and the benefits will not only be more enjoyable cycling, but better cycling.  Our product was designed for both the cycling enthusiast and racer. It was also designed for those who work on their own bikes and those that do not.

As we mentioned earlier, Dyno Velo is a spinoff from CFOM. CFOM is a R&D company which develops and licenses products and manufacturing processes. What makes Dyno Velo and CFOM  unique is that when we design a product for our customers, we not only engineer for the requirements of the product itself; but, we also design for the manufacturing process. For us, it is all about being the best and going the extra mile. Our methodology, not only reduces the product cost, but most of the time yields unexpected inventions or new innovative manufacturing processes. Applying this methodology to the power meter has allowed us to develop a modular design that packs a whole lot of technology into a small device with a lot of firsts.
