Isadore Apparel

Our Story

Isadore Apparel is a company founded and designed by Pro rider Martin Velits and his team. We produce the finest cycling apparel, with inside knowledge from the Pro peloton, for discerning riders who value cycling as a lifestyle.

Our cycling apparel and recycled paper packaging is manufactured sustainably, so our World will still look pretty from a bike in the future to come. With materials sourced from ecologically responsible producers, and products made by human hands you will ride with a clean environmental conscience in Isadore Apparel.

At Isadore Apparel we decided to produce locally from early on, and so it remains to this day for the majority of our products, which are made at the Makyta factory. This way we support the society in which we live, we help create jobs and we can control the development and production process by simply grabbing our bikes and ride to the factory.

The factory of Makyta is placed in Puchov, Slovakia. It was once the largest clothing manufacturer in the East-central European region employing thousands. Today the factory employs upwards to 500 people working not only on Isadore Apparel, but equally on prêt-à-porter high fashion brands.

They say that cycling runs in the blood. Not just a hobby, but a lifestyle. Not just a sport, but a state of mind, too. In our case, it also runs in our family. With a Dad behind the counter of our cycling store and a Mom overseeing the logistics, it was impossible for us to remain immune. Isadore Apparel was created on the foundations of our family’s deep insights over what works on the road and what does not.

But this story is not about my family’s story, but the story of our bigger family: the Makyta Factory Family. The place where our products come alive through the hands of our team. Where everything is made by Hand, by real humans who are proud of their craft. Every Isadore Apparel product starts from Love.

When my brother and I set out to start Isadore Apparel, one of our top priorities was to manufacture locally so we could control things. We had the vision, the designs, and the inside experience from our day job as Pro riders on how a cycling jersey or jacket should fit, and yet we didn’t feel any production facility could fulfill those needs. Our vision for the Isadore brand was, and still is, to produce the most sustainable products possible while at the same time controlling the way they’re made.

Isadore Apparel have supported ‘Riding With and For Ankylosing Spondylitis’ with a set of the finest quality jersey, climbers shorts and sock set.
